Lipstick Palm Tree

 

Scientific Name: Cyrtostachys renda

 

AKA: Sealing Wax Palm, Rajah Palm, Red Sealing Wax Palm.

 

Appearance: The lipstick palm has smooth and slender trunks that are orange to bright red. Feather like dark green leaves that grow upwards. Grows in clusters up to around 20 feet tall, yet some have been recorded over 50 feet tall.  

 

Growing:  Tricky to grow, the sealing wax palm needs high humidity, a lot of water, and is not tolerant of drought or wind.  It is definitely a collectors palm and is one of the most beautiful and sought-after palms in the world. Partial shade to full sun.
